There are many things that make us have to be interviewed by someone. It could be due to applying for a job, getting a school, for magazine articles and even before applying for a lover someone could be interviewed by the prospective in-laws.
So what exactly are you looking for in an interview? Truth, honesty, conformity, equality and otherness. The results of the interview will determine whether we will get what we want. Then, it is a very critical moment. So true!
In the context of looking for work, interviews are generally conducted after someone has sent a CV and passed the screening test. Interviews can be conducted face-to-face or online depending on the company. During the interview, no one helps except ourselves. The ability to ‘sell oneself’ here will be tested. The question that arises then is how do you pass the interview?
The questions in the interview will start from the given CV. Today there are tons of beautiful CV templates available online. Just fill in and voala ..!
Back to the interview problem. What will the interviewer ask? From various interviews that I have done and lived through, the interview can be divided into 3 parts:
1. Past
Usually the interviewer will dig deeper than what has been written in the CV. That’s why it is very important to make sure you understand what you write on your CV and possible questions that arise from your writing. Like what achievements did you make in the company before the current company? Have you been involved in a project and what is your role in it? Why did you move from that company to the current company?
Convey the answer honestly with positive sentences. Remember, don’t try to make it up with your answer because many companies now do reference checks to your previous company.
2. Present
In this section the interviewer will usually ask for your job description at the current company, your current achievements and salary. For matters of salary, once again say what it is. Because in determining how many offers to be given, the company will ask for your payslip at the company now. Well … what happens if you already convey a different number from your payslip.
3. Future
Before the interview, it is best if you find out what business the company is in and what position you are trying to get into. The question that usually arises is why did you apply for this position and want to work at this company? How much salary you want? Be careful with questions about salary as this can be a trap. When you mention a number, the interviewer will relate your past achievements and the salary range they have. The interpretation of this figure could be that you are too over confidence or you are quite reasonable.
From various kinds of questions from the interviewer, the key is just be yourself. Convey your strengths without overdoing it. State your shortcomings along with what you can do to overcome them. Convey everything with good body language, such as maintaining eye contact and moving your hands sufficiently.
In addition, interviewing is a two-way interaction process. You also have the right to ask questions. When you ask questions, it can also show that you have enthusiasm for the interview process.
When finished the interview, don’t forget to thank them because they are willing to consider you as a candidate.
After that, let nature process it. Rest assured if that position is your soul mate, the company will choose you. Good luck!
